1 Planning
The photography experience begins with an enquiry, I will find out all about your horse and chat about your requirements and the size of the artwork you would like and the location of the commission After you have placed your deposit down to secure a date in my diary a few weeks before your commission we will begin to plan your artwork commission. Starting with a phone consultation, where I will chat in more detail about your horse and find out all about your vision for your artwork from this conversation I will build a detailed plan and visual board which includes researching locations, colours, emotion and vision of your commissioned artwork. Each commission is tailor-made for your needs you can commission.

FAQs
Where in the UK do you travel to for commissions?
My most popular locations where I am commissioned regularly to photograph clients’ horses are Lancashire, Manchester, Cheshire and Yorkshire which is near my studio in the North West Pennines, however, I am happy to travel to other areas of the UK.
Do you sell digitals?
Whilst my priority is to create beautiful printed artwork for my clients that they will love for a lifetime, all artworks, albums and prints which are purchased come with digital copies of the photographs.
Do you take on commissions internationally?
I do have availability for a limited number of international commissions, it is recommended that you book at least 3 - 6 months in advance for international commissions to ensure my availability.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the commission?
Our British weather is very unpredictable, I always do a weather check a few days before the commission, if it’s forecast to be wet and muddy then I always recommend that with reschedule the photography commission. If we suddenly have a sudden downpour on the morning of the commission and it looks like it’s here to stay then I always ask my clients to message me to let me know before I set off, and we will reschedule to a sunnier day.
I don’t think my horse will stand still or behave whilst being photographed.
Over the last 12 years, I have worked with many horses. All with big personalities, quirks and charms! I love photographing all horses and have lots of patience and I have developed some tricks and tools when working with horses so there’s no need to worry!
I’m not sure my yard is pretty enough for a commission?
I often get clients worried that their yard is not pretty enough, not large enough and not right for a fine art photography commission. Please do not worry, we will have lots of planning conversations, you don’t need large green spaces on your yard to make your photographs beautiful, I have never been to a yard which I am not able to create beautiful photographs. You also have the option to travel with your horse to a special location too if you prefer.
